Assignment Logo Idea
As the assignment is to design a logo for a new coffee brand, I did some research
on the internet and try to brainstorm the image I wanted my coffee logo to carry.
After doing some research on internet I decided to use a coffee cup as the major part on
my logo design. Then, I found a picture as above and it gave me the
idea of using the smoke to create something which relates to the coffee.
I started to draw on paper and I still couldn't find the exact idea I want to use.
Then, I did some research again and I found a picture as below
I think it is a very creative idea as it used the shape of the cups to create the eyes and used coffee beans
to shape the head of an owl, I like this design and I would like to do something similar as I wanted
to make use of shape in my logo design. That was how I came out with my logo design for my
koopi coffee.

Poster Design
At the beginning, I decided to use a picture of animal to describe the pureness and truthfulness of friendship. So, I chose a picture of two cats and re-draw it using pen tool. Personally, friendship is about color, happiness and joyful to me,therefore I use different color for every single word and a classic font type on my typeface to represent the happiness and joyful that my friends give to me.

Balance
Radial Balance
Radial is when the picture has a central point and the elements inside
the picture is turning into the central point.
This is radial because all the fruits in the picture looks like it is turning into the centre from outside and the centre of the circle has a darker colour which looks like a central point of the picture.
Another example of radial balance, the staircase looks like it is turning into the central point of the picture, and by that, it also created a circle as a central point at the centre of the picture.
Symmetrical Balance
Symmetrical balance is acheived when the element in the picture
at the left is same or similar with the element at the right. Also, the picture
will look the same when it is cut equally into half.
This is example of symmetrical balance because the picture is balance at
the left and right side. Both left and right side has the same thing when it is divided into half equally.
Another example of symmetrical balance, this picture has
the balance element at both left and right side. The picture will look the same
when it divided into half equally.
Asymmetrical balance
Asymmetrical balance picture has does not have the similar element at both side
but the colour of the picture is match. Both side of the picture will have
darker and softer colour to balance up the weight of picture.
This is an example of asymmetrical balance, the dog at the right is bigger and has
a dark colour compare to the small and with a light colour dog at the left however,
this picture still reach a asymmetrical balance because the background of the white
puppy has a darker colour compare to the dog at the right which has a lighter colour.
Another example for asymmetrical balance, the picture achieve a
balance even though the element in the picture are different. The women face at the
bottom right created a weight at that part of the picture and on the other hand, the
3 buses at the top left also created weight for the picture. So when both element
come in one picture, it is a asymmetrically balance picture.

Contrast Tutorial Exercise
Contrast with Shape
At first i draw a line from left to the end of right and draw another
line back from the point to the original point to create the long rectangle
and color by purple. The same thing goes to the long rectangle colored
by pink. Moving on, I used different shape to create the
shapes in between the two long rectangle. the purpose of the two rectangle
is to make the shapes in between both to stand out.
Contrast with Typeface
I used two different typeface to represented two different
mood of the day. I chose the same color for the two different
typeface because I want audience to pay attention on
the feeling that the typeface provided.
Contrast with Color
At first, i came out with one circle shape and used the pen tool to make
a dot as the eye of the face, I changed the size of the pen tool
so it become thicker and round shape. Then, I used pen tool to
create the mouth by pen tool and set the color
to transparent. I group the eyes and mouth and the circle together and
multiply it by copy and pasting it. And, I created one with a smiley face
with the face color yellow and the others
with blue to represents a different mood the color could provide.
Contrast with Size
At first, I draw a circle and followed by the petals of flower by pen tool and
multiply it using coy and paste method. I used the function of
"send front" on the circle so the circle will cover up the extra part of my
petals. I used the pen tool to create the root and also the ground.
I draw the sun as the background of my image
and I decided to make it smaller so the audience would have
an idea of how close is the flower and how far is the sun.
Contrast with Tunnel Visual
At the beginning, I draw the circle by the shape tool and I changed the shape of
the circle in to vertical oval and I copy that shape and make a smaller
one inside the big vertical oval so it will look like a bowl. I created the body
of the bowl by pen tool. I used gradient to create the shadow and i changed the
angle of the gradient from 0 degree to 90 degree, and i changed the aspect ratio
from 100 degree to 300 degree to changed the gradient to look
vertical in order to create a darker area in the bowl. Then I used gradient on the
body of the bowl to created shadow. After that, I used pen tool to
create the shadow of the bowl. I decided to create a background
so the object will be more solid and 3D, I draw the circle by pen tool and
also created the shadow by gradient to match the shadow of the bowl.
